Summer Fun Part III The final episode

Just a couple of days after my sister and her family left, we had more company arrive. We were thrilled to have a quick visit from our very good friends the Hughes.
We hadn't seen their whole family since we last visited Texas 3 years ago. It was so fun to catch up with them. We wish they could have stayed longer. Although they were only here for a short time, we took them on a quick tour of where we lived, including seeing all of the cannons.

After a couple of weeks with no visitors, we were happy to see Grandma E and Grandpa B arrive. The kids couldn't wait to get to spend the night out on their trailer so one evening we had a campfire, roasted hotdogs and made s'mores, and the kids slept out on the trailer.

We also decided to take a visit to the NY Aquarium and Coney Island one day. The aquarium was a fun place. In one place there was an exhibit about waves and erosion and you could stand under a wave as it broke over the top of you. It really made you feel like you were going to get hit by the wave so it was hard not to duck.
We all enjoyed seeing a show with the sea lions and harbor seals.

After a visit to the aquarium, we headed over to the original Nathan's Hot Dog Stand for hot dogs, corn dogs, and yummy fries. The food was delicious, although the calorie counts on the menu left us feeling a little guilty about what we were eating. You wouldn't want to eat this stuff every week but it is worth the guilt for a treat now and then.

After our yummy dinner, we walked the board walk. It was pretty windy by the ocean.
We also checked out some of the carnival rides at Coney Island.
It was a fun afternoon and evening and now we can say that we've been there.
