He generated electricity to light some light bulbs.
He played around with air and a ball.
He put himself inside a bubble. This is just as it broke. If you click on the picture you'll be able to see the film breaking.
C got in the bubble too.
B also played the part of the King of England and decided the fate of his subjects, throwing some of them in jail.
We learned about what life was like for the colonists and the girls each re-enacted the heroic ride of Sybil Luddington, the 16-year-old “Paul Revere” of the Hudson Valley.
C sketched and shaded a three dimensional figure like Leonardo DaVinci.
The girls scaled a rock wall.
We pumped water into a reservoir and then opened the spillway so that we could light the building using hydro electric power.
R's favorite activity was the Gravity Roll Contraption. He practiced and practiced until he perfected the turning of the crank that rotated the screw that would carry a rubber ball to the top of the roller coaster and then release it with just the right amount of speed so that it could navigate all of the twists and turns fast enough to not fall out of the loops and slow enough to not jump the track. The kids got to try it a few times too... when Dad would let them. :-)
The kids also had fun playing in the puppet theater, pretending to be a raindrop in the water cycle, and trying to fly their parachute in a virtual game.

Looks like a lot of fun! We have a similar museum here and it always amazes me how the grown-ups manage to have as much fun as the kids. There are just some things we don't outgrow!
I think we are all kids at heart, or did we just not get to do everything we wanted to do when we were kids?
