First, the short version of a very long story. Changes in military housing guidelines necessitated some renovations and updating be done to quarters on post. The fact that our housing area is historical and can not be changed on the outside, severely complicated the ability to take the current footprint of our quarters and make it meet the new guidelines. The fact that our quarters are connected in a line, like a set of condos, helped to facilitate the arrived upon solution...take two quarters and blast some holes in the walls to create 1 new set of quarters from 2 old quarters. The result, we now have double the square footage of what we used to have, and it is fun to now stand in our new quarters and remember what that same space once was in our old set of quarters.
And so, I share... the before and after of our spaces.
Before......this space was our living room.

After......this same space is now our dining room.

Before....... this space was our dining room.

After......they took out a wall, made a bar and now this same space is our kitchen.

Before........this space was our kitchen.

After..... this same space is our laundry room.

(Coming soon, pictures of the rest of our new house.)
