A Virtual Tour - The Upstairs

Here is our new upstairs. We went from 1 bathroom and 3 bedrooms (one of them being very tiny), to 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, and a bonus space. You'll see that there is still lots of decorating that we can do, as the walls are pretty bare. But, the painting is now done and the valences are hung and I can finally move on to other projects. We'll decorate as we find things we love.

Upon arriving at the top of the stairs there are two hallways. One is the old original hallway. Here is that hallway.
You can see P's bedroom door on the right, then B's bedroom door and then you are looking into the hall bathroom. Here is a close up of that bathroom. We used Christmas gift cards to decorate (Thanks Crists and Browns). The kids chose the shower curtain and then they each chose a matching towel color. New rugs, valence, and soap dispenser completed the look.
Turning around with your back to the bathroom, here is that hallway from the other direction. You are looking into the bonus room and through the end of the new hallway that goes down to the right behind the short section of banister.

Our next stop on the tour is B's bedroom. His is closest to the bathroom. When he wanted to paint it orange, we weren't sure how that was going to look, but he choose an awesome color and I love it. It is so warm and cozy in his room.

He left one wall white as the accent wall. It will eventually have a huge black vinyl silhouette of a helicopter along with his name in orange letters.

Next stop, P's room, right across from the top of the stairs. Here is the view into her room from the doorway. (She made her bed all by herself, does everyday, and it always looks this good.)

Next we'll visit the bonus space that you saw at the end of the hallway. This space was created out of what used to be the small bedrooms in the old houses. Some of the old small bedrooms' space got used to make the new hallway and the rest became this really bright funky shaped bonus area. We call it "The Lego Room". All of the Legos are kept and played with here. I was going to clean it up for the picture but then decided not to. It is more authentic this way since it will probably never be clean and that is okay. I can just shut the doors.

Taking a step into the room, you can now see into the other half of this Lego room.
The narrow opening is the hole that was knocked between the two small bedrooms from the two separate houses. The remaining partition is the chimney that goes from the basements to the roof and could not be removed. This bonus space is also the way you get large pieces of furniture from one side of the upstairs of our new house to the other side. The new hallway is too narrow in one section because of this chimney.

Here is one more view of the Lego room from the other side, looking back at the door through which we entered.
Now, back out in the hallway, here is the view from the top of the stairs looking down the new hallway that was created during the renovation. Directly to your left (and not visible in the picture) the lego room door that we just came out of. Now you can see the narrow portion of the hallway as well as the tiniest portion of the 2nd door to the Lego room down on the left. Our bedroom is the door on the right, and straight ahead is C's room.
Here is that same hallway looking the other direction. You can see our bedroom door open on the left, and the second door to the Lego room open on the right.

Now into C's bedroom. Here is the view of her room from her door.

Last stop on the tour, our bedroom. Here is the view of our room from our bedroom door.
The doors on the right are our new closet, covering what used to be the stairwell for this house before renovations. The area from our bedroom door to our bathroom was the old hallway (like the hallway outside P and B's bedrooms). And our bathroom was once the bathroom for this house.
