After struggling with the eye exam at her physical, P had to go see the optometrist. When she went in for her eye exam, she went at the same time as B. He did his exam first so that she could see how everything would work and he did a good job of making everything look fun and exciting (even getting his eyes dilated). That lessened the stress and worry for P. She wasn't sure she wanted glasses but again, B did a good job of making it sound exciting. "And", he told her, "Now you will look even more like me." Of the 3 kids, those 2 look the most alike and P is always being told that if she pulls her hair back that she looks like a little B.
P chose some cute glasses. We think they look super cute on her.
She wore them to school for the first time a week ago today. When she got home this is what she told me.
I had a really good day at school today. When I went to bed last night I was afraid people at school wouldn't recognize me with my glasses and I would have to make new friends or they wouldn't like my glasses so I was nervous. But everyone knew I was still P and when they saw me they said, "I like your glasses."
I sure do love this little girl.
