The Last 4 months - Running

B ran the 2 mile and 1 mile in track this year.
At a relay invitation he ran the 4 x 1mile relay where his team medaled, coming in 6th.  His personal bests for the season were 2 miles in 11:56 and 1 mile in 5:37.
He made so much progress during the season (setting a personal record almost every meet) that it became a joke with the team.  The coach would ask, "Who ran a P.R. today?...don't bother to raise your hand B, we already know you P.Red"  "If you keep P.R.ing like this, by the end of the season you will break the world record."  He ran the 2 mile at both counties and sections earning a varsity letter.  We are quite pleased with the runner he has become and are glad that he has such a great time doing it.
C decided to try track this year.  She tried shot put,
as well as running the 100m, 400m, and 800m.   It was a difficult season for her as she kept battling shin splints and spring illnesses.  She had to miss the last 2 meets because she was too injured to run.  She still had fun though and enjoyed being part of the team.

My running buddy and I decided to do a spring half marathon on Long Island.  Spring training turned out to be a lot less fun that our summer training was last year.  On our long runs it was usually cold, and sometimes snowy and rainy.  Race day started out a little foggy and dreary but it ended up being a beautiful day.

The race was extra fun because my SIL came and ran too,
and R and the girls were there to watch and cheer.  (B was gone running his own races for track that day.)  The race route doubled back on itself a few times so we got to run past our cheering section 3 times during the race.
My buddy and I P.R.ed, taking 9 minutes off of our last race time.
